Nuvaka › Game management
Remote configuration for your game
Game Manager lets you change how a released game behaves without shipping a new version. You manage version checks, maintenance mode, error and warning messages from the Nuvaka app; your game fetches this information from the server with a single API key.
What you get
- Versions: decide which versions can be played and which ones must update.
- Maintenance mode: start maintenance and write the message players will see; turn it off with one click when you are done.
- Error codes: update the error texts your game shows, independently of the code.
- Warnings: publish announcements and warning messages.
- Default server address: change the domain or IP your game connects to, remotely.
- Members and permissions: give your team access to a project and decide who can change what.
How it works
- Create a "New project" in the app; the project gets its own API key.
- In your game, ask Nuvaka for the version and maintenance status with this key at startup.
- Make changes in the app; your game picks up the new settings on its next request.
It does not depend on a game engine: any game or app that can make an HTTP request can use it. You only use the API key for the read operations you embed in the game; changing settings is done with your account and the permissions you grant.
Who it is for
Small studios and independent developers: forced updates, maintenance announcements and error messages without building a separate backend. In the same app you can connect to your servers over SSH, share files and ask the assistant to change these settings.

Frequently asked
Which engine does my game need to use?
It does not matter. Unity, Unreal, Godot or your own engine; any game or app that can make an HTTP request can fetch the information.
Is it safe to keep the API key inside the game?
The key is read-only: it fetches version, maintenance and message information. Changing settings requires signing in with your Nuvaka account and the permissions you set in the project.
What do players see in maintenance mode?
The message you wrote. Your game asks for the maintenance status at startup; if maintenance is on, it shows the message and holds the player. This is displayed in your game's own interface.
